Police ask public for help in search for 29-year-old woman
WATERVILLE, Maine (AP) — Police in Waterville, Maine, are asking for the public’s help in finding a 29-year-old woman whose boyfriend was arrested on charges of endangering the welfare of her children.
Police say Melissa Sousa was last seen Tuesday morning when she put her twin daughters on a school bus. Her boyfriend, 28-year-old Nicholas Lovejoy, was arrested early Wednesday on charges of having a loaded rifle in his vehicle and for endangering the welfare of the 8-year-old girls, who were left home alone.
Lovejoy was being held Wednesday at the Kennebec County Jail. It was unclear if he’d hired an attorney and he couldn’t be reached for comment.
