December 24, 2018

DARLINGTON, S.C. – Deputies with the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the discovery of human skeletal remains.

Investigators do not suspect foul play, according to a news release.

A nearby resident discovered the remains early Sunday morning and called Sheriff Tony Chavis. The remains were discovered in a garage approximately 100 feet from the closest residence in the 1700 block of North Gov. Williams Highway.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday in Newberry by Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee.
