FBI seeks suspects in Richmond Heights bank robbery

RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio — The FBI is searching for two suspects who robbed a bank Tuesday afternoon.

The two men, one with a handgun, entered Ohio Savings Bank at 720 Richmond Road at 2:22 p.m., according to a news release.

The tellers emptied their cash drawers into a bag after one of the suspects jumped over the counter and demanded the money. The other armed suspect forced customers and employees to get on the ground.

The robbers escaped in a stolen, black Chevrolet Cruz driven by a third suspect. The Cruz was later recovered by police.

One suspect wore a dark hooded sweat shirt, gloves and white tennis shoes. The armed suspect wore dark clothing and green gloves and his face was covered, possibly by a mask.

Both men were thin and about 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7 inches tall. The suspects are considered armed and dangerous.

No description was provided of the driver of the Cruz.

Anyone with information in the suspects is asked to contact the Cleveland FBI or the Richmond Heights Police Department. A reward is possible if a tip leads to a successful arrest and conviction.
