Scott Brooks on the hot seat? Coach has support of Wizards: report
To say the Washington Wizards are off to a rocky start would be an understatement.
The Wizards are just 1-5 and are giving up a league-worst 125 points per game. Bradley Beal and John Wall have already gone on rants in the media telling reporters certain teammates have their own agendas.
The situation has gotten to the point in which people are already asking: is Scott Brooks’ job in immediate danger?
Well, according to a report from Yahoo Sports, Brooks will remain Washington’s coach, at least for now.
Yahoo’s Chris Haynes reported that Brooks has the franchise’s support moving forward.
Hired before the 2016-17 season, Brooks led the Wizards to a 92-72 record over his first two years and made the playoffs twice. But Washington took a step back last season finishing 43-39 before losing in the first round of the postseason.
Brooks, per Haynes, has three years left on a five-year, $35 million contract.
Haynes also reported that Dwight Howard (buttocks) is expected to make his season debut this week.
