Dorothea Gallagher, 96, Watertown
Dorothea “Dori” J. Gallagher, 96, of Watertown, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 20, 2017, following a brief illness, at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown, with the Rev. Patrick Wendler of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Watertown officiating. Burial will take place at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia. Family and friends may gather from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Jude or to the charity of one’s choice. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hafemeisterfh.com.
Dorothea Jean Sutfin was born Nov. 18, 1920, in Madison, the daughter of Fred and Lottie (Austin) Sutfin. She was a graduate of Portage High School. Dori was united in marriage to Willis Gallagher in 1942. He preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 1983. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Watertown. Dori enjoyed bird watching and word puzzles. She loved camping, especially at Lake George Pride of America in Pardeeville.
She is survived by her children, Fran (Nancie) Gallagher of Westfield and Pat (Robert) Braatz of Oconomowoc; grandchildren, Linda White, Brian (Wendy) Gallagher and Jackie Gallagher; great-grandchildren, Kali White, Troy Gallagher, Cody Gallagher, Austin Gallagher, Apryll Tomac and Cassandra Tomac; brother, Donald (Jean Ann) Sutfin of Portage; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dori was preceded in death by her parents; husband; as well as nine brothers and sisters.
