EDEN — After a warm, rainy few days and a low snowpack, another local ski resort decided to close for the season.
Powder Mountain announced in a Facebook post that Saturday will be the last day of the season for the resort. The resort was previously scheduled to close next week on Sunday, April 15.
A string of recent warm weather seems to be the cause of the resort’s closure, according to the post. Events planned for the weekend of April 14 and 15, including a closing weekend party, are canceled, the post said.
With the closure of Powder Mountain, the only local ski resort remaining open is Snowbasin, which is scheduled to close next weekend, according to its website.
Nordic Valley, the third local ski resort, closed on March 14, according to Ski Utah.
