Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Chapel Hill; driver arrested
A University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill student was struck by a vehicle while crossing Franklin Street on Saturday morning, Chapel Hill police said.
The pedestrian was crossing outside a designated crosswalk at 2:58 a.m. and was struck by the vehicle.
The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was taken to UNC Hospitals for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired.
The pedestrian was charged with walking outside of a crosswalk.
