BREAKING: Marshall-Miami (Ohio) kickoff moved to 6 p.m.
OXFORD, Ohio - Marshall and Miami (Ohio) fans alike were looking forward to the start of the 2018 season on Saturday.
Mother Nature had other plans, however.
Miami (Ohio) officials announced that kickoff has been pushed back to 6 p.m. for the season-opener between the Herd and RedHawks from Yager Stadium.
The original announcement came at 2:30 p.m. - just one hour prior to the scheduled start between the teams - that the game would be moved to 5:30 p.m.
At 4:30 p.m., officials on-site decided to move the game back another half-hour to 6 p.m. due to continued threats of inclement weather.
Radar showed many scattered, but strong cells in the Oxford area throughout the afternoon and early evening hours, which prompted officials to make the time changes.
The game is being live-streamed on ESPN3, so the time change did not affect any television considerations.
