2 die in Southern California mobile home fire

December 30, 2018

HEMET, Calif. (AP) — Two people are dead after a Southern California mobile home fire.

Hemet Fire Chief Scott Brown says the incident Saturday night at Sierra Dawn Estates was reported as a car fire in a carport but by the time firefighters arrived it had spread to the mobile home.

Brown tells The Press-Enterprise firefighters rescued one person who died at a hospital and the second victim was found during a later search.

Earlier this month, an 85-year-old resident of the same mobile home park died in a fire believed to have accidentally started near a kitchen stove.
