Three robbery thefts reported in Stamford over weekend
STAMFORD — Police reported three unrelated robberies and larcenies in the city that took place from Saturday night into Sunday morning.
The first involved two juveniles who went to Richmond Hill Avenue and Spruce Street to purchase some marijuana. But the man they decided to buy their pot from at 9:35 p.m. pulled out a gun instead and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the pair, Sgt. Kenneth Jarrett said.
At midnight an intoxicated man walked out of a bar on Stillwater Avenue and was approached by a group of young men who asked him for money. When the man said yes and held out his wallet to give them $5, one of the youths grabbed the wallet and he and the group ran off, Jarrett said.
Right around the same time, a man is waiting for an Uber driver’s approach on Clinton and Main streets with a wallet in his hand. At that moment, a man walked up to him wearing a blue hoodie and a bandana over his face and grabbed the wallet and ran away, Jarrett said.
Anyone with information on the crimes should call police at 203-977-4444.
