Man pulls trigger on empty gun while threatening girlfriend in Milford

MILFORD-A domestic dispute resulted in the arrest of West Haven man accused of pointing a pistol at a girlfriend and pulling the trigger during an argument at Gulf Beach..

Fortunately for both parties the pistol was unloaded.

Now Darwin Martinez, 31, of Spring Street, West Haven is charged with threatening, carrying a pistol without a permit, second-degree reckless endangerment and first-degree breach of peace. Bond was set at $50,000 pending his appearance in Superior Court Monday.

Police charged Martinez Monday morning in the incident which took place Feb. 8.

The victim told police that the pair were in a dating relationship and involved in a discussion in the Gulf Beach parking lot when he displayed a pistol, pointed it at her, threatened to kidnap her and pulled the trigger. At the time she did not know the pistol was unloaded.


The woman convinced him to bring her home.
