NIOT meets Thursday

The monthly meeting of Not In Our Town BG will change time and location on Thursday to allow for more community participation.

The open meeting will be held at the Wood County District Public Library from 5 to 7 p.m. In the past, all NIOT BG meetings have been held from 3 to 5 p.m. The meeting on Thursday will review events of the past month, hear reports of current activities, and consider issues to address and opportunities to build a more safe, respectful and inclusive community.

NIOT BG is a community-wide movement, with monthly meetings alternating between the Bowling Green State University campus and a downtown location.

Rt. 199 at Roachton Road may be closed

PERRYSBURG — The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced that effective Thursday through Friday, daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., the intersection of Ohio 199 and Roachton Road may be closed for lighting installation.

The detour will be: Ohio 582; I-75; U.S. 20; Ohio 795.

All work is weather permitting.

Child taken to hospital in crash

A child was taken to Wood County Hospital following a crash in Bowling Green Sunday.

Bowling Green Police report that at 4:45 p.m. a vehicle driven by Gloria Sharpe, BG, was stopped northbound on North Mercer Road at East Merry Avenue due to a vehicle stopped in front of her.

A vehicle driven by Katelyn Long, BG, was behind Sharpe’s vehicle and failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead, striking Sharpe’s vehicle.

A passenger in Sharpe’s vehicle, Niko Hartbarger, 3, was taken to the hospital by BG Fire/EMS with possible injuries.

Long was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Risingsun PD sets safety check point

RISINGSUN — The Risingsun Police Department will conduct a safety check point Oct. 14 from approximately 10 p.m. until 1:30 a.m.

The checkpoint will be located at the intersection of U.S. 23 and Main Street within the village.
