Shelton men arrested in copper theft at Fairfield Hills
NEWTOWN - Two Shelton men are charged with burglary, larceny and criminal mischief in connection with the theft of copper from a Fairfield Hills building.
On Wednesday evening police were called to a secured vacant building, on the property of Fairfield Hills, to investigate the report of two men stealing copper from inside the building. The call was made by a concerned citizen.
Police were able to quickly surround the building and apprehend one of the suspects, but the other suspect had fled the area just prior to police arrival.
The second suspect was shortly thereafter apprehended with the help of Shelton police who were waiting for him at his residence.
The suspects were identified as John Rodia, 49, and John Marlin, 53.
The two were released after posting bond.
