Moses Lake man gets at least 8 years for child molestation
MOSES LAKE, Wash. (AP) — A 69-year-old Moses Lake man will serve just over eight years to life in prison after pleading guilty in a child molestation case.
The Columbia Basin Herald reported this week that LeRoyce Ethington was sentenced in Grant County Superior Court.
Ethington pleaded guilty to three counts of child molestation. He was initially charged with rape of a child and five counts of child molestation, but the charges were revised in a plea agreement.
An investigation was launched after a woman reported that her young niece talked about the abuse. Ethington had been living with the victim at the time.
The victim detailed instances in which Ethington inappropriately touched her and said she put a sign on her bedroom door telling Ethington not to come in.
Ethington admitted touching the victim and other young girls.
Ethington’s attorney said Ethington has shown remorse.
