Police looking for suspect who swiped wallet at SHU rec center

FAIRFIELD — Police are looking for a man wearing a New York Giants cap they suspect stole a wallet from the Pitt Center at Sacred Heart University Tuesday.

A student said he went to the recreation center to work out, put his wallet in his backpack, and put his backpack on the counter. When he went to leave, he discovered his wallet was missing. The wallet contained his driver’s license, credit card, student ID card and $160 in cash.

Security video shows a white man, in his 20’s, wearing a black fleece, gray sweatpants, and Giants cap, and holding a jacket, reach into the backpack and grab the wallet. He then hides the wallet under the jacket and leaves.
