Ryan Grant agrees to join Colts
Ryan Grant has found a new home.
The former Redskins receiver landed with the Indianapolis Colts, days after his deal with the Baltimore Ravens was canceled because of a failed physical. The NFL Network reported the deal.
Grant agreed to a one-year, $5 million contract with the Colts a significant downgrade from the four-year, $29 million contract he signed with the Ravens.

Grant’s failed physical was somewhat controversial because the Ravens then signed receiver Michael Crabtree immediately after the deal was called off. Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome told reporters that the Ravens would have pursued Crabtree regardless. Grant and the Ravens initially agreed to the deal before Crabtree, released by the Oakland Raiders, became available.
Grant didn’t pass his physical because of an ankle injury, reportedly suffered in Week 17 against the New York Giants. Grant’s agent told ESPN that Grant had been independently cleared by Dr. Robert Anderson.
Grant joins a Colts team that is getting Andrew Luck back at quarterback after he missed the entire 2017 season recovering from a shoulder injury.
Grant spent four years in Washington and is coming off a career-high 573 yards with four touchdowns.
