Lockdown at Porter caused by post
Brownsville Independent School District police found that fears of a possible safety threat at Porter High School on Friday resulted from a misunderstanding, an official said.
Alfonso Gutierrez, interim administrator for public information, said the school went into a soft lockdown at 9:35 a.m. as district police investigated. During the lockdown, students were not allowed to move between classrooms, and traffic in or out of the campus was halted.
Gutierrez said police found that confusion over a social media post about the Friday morning school shooting in Santa Fe was at the center of the report.
