Tucker’s Kozy Korner, second B-Daddy’s BBQ set to open Wednesday
Two San Antonio-area food and drink spots that have been temporarily closed will be back in business on Wednesday.
Tucker’s Kozy Korner, 1338 E. Houston St., will debut a new food and cocktail menu at 4 p.m. The East Side property that dates back to 1948 is now operated by Andrew Lake and Nathan Azar, who took over from former tenants Jeff and Jenn White in November.
The new menu, developed by Culinary Institute of America-San Antonio graduates Chris Durkin and Phil Carden, features a lineup of steam buns (3 for $9) stuffed with pulled pork, fried shrimp or eggplant.
Tucker’s also will have an old-school menu of bar favorites, including wings, fried chicken and a house burger. And there is a separate Sunday brunch menu.

The bar program, headed by industry veteran Adrian Sarabia, has eight featured cocktails (priced from $6 to $10), a lineup of eight wine varieties and more than 20 types of beer.
Flipping from bar food to barbecue, travel north up Texas 281 to Spring Branch to take in the debut of the second location of B-Daddy’s BBQ at 2 Sun Valley Drive starting at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
The space is the former home of Texas 46, a barbecue restaurant that closed in October after just eight months of business.
Owner B.R. Anderson, who started B-Daddy’s as a food truck before moving into his Helotes brick-and-mortar location in 2016, will feature a similar menu that hits on all the barbecue classics.

To help make the expansion fluid, Anderson is moving B-Daddy’s kitchen manager and pitmaster John Campbell, a classically trained chef, out to run the new operation.
