Queens man arrested for Greenwich overdose: cops

December 20, 2018

GREENWICH — A man alleged to have provided a fatal dose of drugs that led to an overdose in a Greenwich hotel in late September has been arrested and charged with manslaughter.

Police said Thursday that Daniel T. Linfante, 43, of the Glendale section of Queens, N.Y., was in custody in New York City and awaiting extradition to Connecticut to face a felony charge in connection with a man’s death from fentanyl and heroin.

Authorities came to a local hotel, the name of which was not released, on a report of a deceased male. According to a statement from police, “Investigators from the department’s Narcotics Section were able to obtain information leading to a suspect who had sold narcotics which led to the death of the deceased.”

The NYPD Fugitive arrested Linfante, of Cooper Avenue, Dec. 13 on the warrant issued by Greenwich police. He is currently being held and will face a hearing Jan. 4 on whether he will be extradited to Connecticut or challenge that request from local law enforcement.

Police said they were not releasing specifics about the case until Linfante is booked on the manslaughter charge in Connecticut.
