Claypool man held on child-porn possession charges
A 51-year-old Claypool man has been charged with possessing child pornography, Indiana State Police said today.
State police at Fort Wayne said the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Kenneth R. Hyatt on Thursday morning. Hyatt was being held at the Kosciusko County Jail without bond on one count of possession of child pornography, a Level 6 felony, and two counts of possession of child pornography (victims younger than 12), both Level 5 felonies.
Police said the task force received a cyber tip in January from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. As a result of its investigation, a search warrant was served at 9:15 a.m. Thursday. Police said results of the search led to Hyatt’s arrest.
Additional forensic examinations are ongoing, police said. They said the task force was assisted by the county sheriff’s department, the county prosecutor’s office, Claypool police and Fort Wayne police.
