Wine, Beer Tasting Event on Sat.

CHELMSFORD -- Thirty wines and champagnes and 10 craft beers will be on tap at a tasting event Saturday at Sts. Vartanantz Church. There will also be appetizers, a raffle and a dessert bar at the event, which will run from 7-9 p.m.

Billerica’s new Panera to open

BILLERICA -- Town officials cut the ribbon on a new Panera location on 188 Boston Road Monday afternoon.

The location opened in mid-October after months of construction.


Art and story event on Saturday

BILLERICA -- Local artist Paula Richards will host a local art and story event this Saturday at Billerica Access Television from 1 to 3 p.m. The event, called “Through New Eyes,” will include a display of her art and a reading, concluding with a five minute meditation.

In 1998, spurred by the desire to seek more from life, Richards left a 25-year nursing career to pursue art. She is the founder of Spirit Rising Ministries.

“Art’s meditative quality opened my eyes to seeing from a different perspective,” she said in a press release. “While learning how to paint, I learned how to live a more joyful life. Now, through sharing my story and art, it is my dream to help others live their vision of a more meaningful life.”


Comm. workshop in Wilmington

WILMINGTON -- The Department of Planning & Conservation is hosting a community workshop on inclusionary zoning for residents looking to learn about affordable housing options in town.

The workshop will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at the Wilmington Memorial Library, located at 175 Middlesex Ave.

There will be informational posters set up and staff present to answer questions and get resident input on affordable housing.

Residents are encouraged to stop by at the workshop anytime between 9:45 and 10:45 a.m.


Night parking ban in Tewksbury

TEWKSBURY -- An overnight street parking ban will be in effect in town from Thursday, Nov. 1 until March 31, 2019. The ban will be in effect for all streets between midnight to 6 a.m. Those who violate the ban will be issued a $25 fine.

The Town Clerk’s Office also announced that vehicles cannot be parked on the street during snowstorms, whether is it day or night.

Wellness Expo at mall in Nashua

NASHUA -- Pheasant Lane Mall is teaming up with Lowell General Hospital, Circle Health and partners to host a Health and Wellness Expo this Saturday.

According to a release, attendees will learn how to keep their minds and bodies healthy and the expo will feature health education booths, massage therapy, raffle prizes, wellness screenings and more. All screenings are free and no pre-registration is required.

The expo will be held between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the mall’s South Court, near the food court and children’s play area. The address is 310 Daniel Webster Highway, Nashua, N.H.


Networking event at bistro

LOWELL -- The Foundation Mixer will recognize Lowell Police Lt. Marisol Nobrega at its next professional networking event on Thursday, Nov. 8. The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mandarin Asian Bistro, located at 24 Market St. Nobrega was recently promoted from her position as sergeant, making her the first Hispanic woman to earn the rank of lieutenant in the department’s history.
