Work begins on US 60 near Ceredo, Kenova
CEREDO — Wayne County drivers should expect traffic delays as the West Virginia Department of Highways begins spring paving along U.S. 60 through Ceredo and Kenova.
Brent Walker, communications director with the DOH office in Charleston, said the four-mile long project will last for about a week as workers pave U.S. 60 from Camden Park to Dreamland Pool.
“Of course everyone wants to know about the larger projects, but even with the Roads to Prosperity program, we still have our regular highways program,” he said. “That’s what this is.”
Walker said because the stretch of roadway is a high-traffic area, the project will use a new type of asphalt that dries quicker.
“It’s a tact that doesn’t stick to tires,” he said. “So it’s not going to get all over the tires when they run through it.”
The Ceredo Police Department is advising drivers to use extra caution while driving through the area and watch for slow traffic.
