Fifty-year-old Magee is a former city council member and business owner. He got his journalism start at The EAGLE while a student at the University of Mississippi. Magee is currently a vice president at Alabama Media Group and publisher of Birmingham magazine.
He says the opportunity to return home and build upon The EAGLE’s legacy is a dream come true.
In addition to Oxford responsibilities, Magee has been named a vice president of Boone Newspapers.
Magee and his wife, Kent Magee, will be relocating back to Oxford in the coming weeks.
