Gym owner pleads guilty to touching teen girls
The owner of a Raleigh fitness center pleaded guilty Tuesday afternoon to two counts of misdemeanor sexual battery.
Prosecutors say Samuel Oscar Blue, who owned and was a trainer at Triangle VertiMax, touched and massaged at least two girls in the groin area inappropriately.
After his arrest in November 2017, a third girl came forward with video evidence that Blue had inappropriately touched her as well.
The prosecutor said Blue also made sexual comments to several girls.
The fathers of two of the victims were moved to tears when one of the girls described for the court how Blue’s actions traumatized her.
Judge Vince Rozier reassured the families, saying, “This is not your fault. You did your job. You haven’t failed your daughters.
He then sentenced Blue to 24 months of supervised probation. Blue will have to register as a sex offender and complete a sex offender control program. He was also ordered never to contact any of the victims.
