Two-vehicle crash at U.S. 10 near Stiles Road

December 7, 2017

Emergency responders were called to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 10 in the area of Stiles Road in Amber Township about 7 a.m. Thursday.

One person is being evaluated for possible injuries.

Roads are snow-covered this morning for the first time this season.

A 25-year-old Muskegon man was driving a Dodge pickup east on U.S. 10 when the vehicle slid into oncoming traffic and sideswiped a Ford Explorer that was traveling west, according to Mason County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Mike Hanson.

The driver of the Explorer, a 37-year-old Ludington woman, was being treated for minor injuries.

A 17-year-old girl was a passenger in the Explorer. She was not injured.

The Custer Jaws of Life team helped bend the driver’s side door, which was damaged in the crash.

The Muskegon man was been cited for driving too fast for conditions.

Scottville and Pere Marquette Township firefighters and Life EMS personnel were also working at the scene.
