Coach Luke Strand’s Musketeers feature the United States Hockey League’s top scorer in Martin Pospisil (15 points) and the third-leading scorer in Bobby Brink (13) while Marcus Kallionkieli is one of seven players tied for ninth with nine points … Pospisil (4 goals, 11 assists), the USHL’s assist leader, has scored in each of the squad’s seven games, the longest scoring streak of his two-year career … Pospisil has recorded at least two points in each of his last three games and six overall … A fourth-round draft pick of the Calgary Flames in last summer’s NHL Draft (and a St. Lawrence recruit), Pospisil had three assists in three games last year against Des Moines, two in a 5-1 victory at the Tyson Events Center … Brink (3 goals, 10 assists), a University of Denver recruit who’s second in the USHL with 10 assists, enters Tuesday night’s game riding a streak of four games with at least two points … Brink, who had a goal and an assist in last season’s 5-1 win over Des Moines, is also one of four players tied for second in the league with four power-play assists … Kallionkieli (8, 1), a native of Helsinki, Finland, has a five-game scoring streak that includes his second 2-goal game of the season in last Friday’s 6-4 loss at Fargo … Second in the USHL in goals (first among rookies), Kallionkieli third in rookie scoring with nine points … Luke Johnson (1, 4) is tied for sixth in defenseman scoring with five points … Sioux City has scored the first goal in each of the last three games and four of the last five, with Matt Miller (4 goals) providing two of those goals … Parker Ford (4, 1) had a goal and an assist against Des Moines last season … Converting 9 of 13 penalty kill chances last week against the USHL’s top two power play clubs, the Musketeers now rank seventh (82.1 percent) in that category.

Sandwiched between Pospisil and Brink in the USHL’s scoring race is Des Moines’ Matt Brown (14 points) … Brown, who has nine goals and five assists, has scored in six of the Buccaneers’ seven games, has scored in three straight games and scored two goals in Friday’s 4-2 win over Tri-City … A Massachusetts-Lowell recruit, Brown’s 32 shots are second in the league and he has converted nine of those for goals for 28 percent … T.J. Walsh (4 goals, 6 assists) is tied for seventh in the league with 10 points … Walsh is in his third USHL season, combining for 10 goals and 14 assists the previous two seasons at Cedar Rapids … Reed Lebster (3, 1) is tied for second in the USHL with his three power play goals … Conner Senken is tied for sixth in USHL defenseman scoring with five points … Des Moines ranks 11th in the league in power play (16.7 percent) and 13th in penalty kill).
