Sanders video highlights lack of Reno affordable housing
RENO, Nev. (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has released an online campaign video spotlighting the lack of affordable housing in Reno.
The Vermont senator’s campaign released a video Wednesday featuring interviews with a northern Nevada tenant rights activist, footage of a Sanders rally in Reno this year and images of homeless encampments and renovated apartments.
Sanders is among several Democratic presidential candidates discussing affordable housing plans on the campaign trial. He has proposed expanding a national affordable housing trust fund, allowing cities and towns to use rent control and other measures to make housing more affordable.
The senator released a similar video in May targeting another key issue in Nevada, the third-in-line state to vote on the Democratic nominee.
Sanders’ earlier video decried the propose nuclear-waste dump at the mothballed Yucca Mountain project near Las Vegas.
