Walkerville woman pleads guilty to breaking into two businesses

May 2, 2018

Candice Lee Fennell, 22, 9283 13 Mile Road, Walkerville, pleaded guilty in 51st Circuit Court Tuesday to charges of two counts of breaking and entering into a building with intent, habitual offender third offense.

If Judge Susan K. Sniegowski follows a plea and sentence agreement, Fennell could face 30 months minimum to 20 years maximum in prison.

Fennell and her codefendant broke into Orchard Market on U.S. 10 and the Salvation Army on U.S. 10.

According to what Fennell admitted to the court, her codefendant kicked open the door to the Salvation Army store and obtained a safe from inside that was loaded onto a dolly and put into the back of the Salvation Army truck.

Fennell told the court that her codefendant broke the fiberglass on the outside of Orchard Market and then Fennell used a hammer to break inside. Two cash registers were taken during that incident.
