Detroit-area prosecutor Worthy backs Wilder for top court
DETROIT (AP) — Michigan Supreme Court Justice Kurtis Wilder has picked up an endorsement from the Wayne County prosecutor.
Kym Worthy is a Democrat, but she says Wilder deserves to keep his seat on the state’s highest court. She says she’s impressed with “his continuous stand for equal justice under the law and the protection of crime victims’ rights.”
Wilder is a conservative judge who was on the appeals court before Republican Gov. Rick Snyder appointed him to a vacancy on the Supreme Court.
Six candidates are running for two seats on the court next week. Candidates aren’t identified by political party, but they have been endorsed by parties.
