Somerset Inc. hosts gala at Somerset County Courthouse
Uptown Somerset’s revitalization program, Somerset Inc., will host a charity “Gala at the Courthouse” on May 25 at the Somerset County Courthouse.
Executive Director Regina Coughenour said the event will be a nice opportunity for attendees to experience the beauty of the courthouse in a relaxed atmosphere, outside the “hustle and bustle” of the building’s daily schedule.
“The black-tie affair will showcases the classical revival style of Somerset’s Nationally Recognized Historic Courthouse,” she said in a press release.
“Live music by Nicholas Carroll and Flood City Brass will fill the Courthouse, from the marble floors of the main hall to the intricately designed courtrooms to the ornate dome, creating a once-in-a-lifetime ambiance.”
Coughenour said there will also be food from local restaurants, drinks from local breweries and wineries, tours by local historian George Kaufman and a live auction by auctioneer and Deputy Sheriff Dusty Weir.
“We are so honored and grateful to our County Commissioners and Judges for allowing us the opportunity to hold the Gala in this iconic space,” she said. “We have made every effort to make sure that the night will reflect the majesty of the building itself. How fitting that this event will help fund the very initiatives that we hope will make the community swell with pride.”
The event is open to the public. Tickets are available at eventbrite.com.
