Scene…Argentine polo player and Ralph Lauren model Nacho Figueras, one of the top 100 polo players in the world, was seen celebrating his birthday with family and friends at Le Penguin on Lewis Street in Greenwich on March 4.Out there…Greenwich native Catherine (Cathy) Lavaty will serve as the Grand Marshal at the 43rd annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 19 from 2 to 3 p.m. Lavaty, a graduate of St. Mary Grammar School and St. Mary High School, retired from NBC in 2005 after 38 years of working as program manager for the “Nightly News ,” the “Today Show” and “Dateline.” She is a member of St. Mary Church of Greenwich, where she serves as a trustee and chairwoman of the parish Social Concerns Committee. She serves on the board of the NBC New York Employees Federal Credit Union and the “Today Show” Charitable Foundation Inc. The concert, conducted by Carole Ann Maxwell, will feature performances by the glee club, which includes more than 130 undergraduate and graduate singers, the all-male a cappella group the Bensonians and the all-female chamber group Sweet Harmony and the Fairfield University Chamber Singers. Carlson, an advocate for workplace equality and the empowerment of women, has been affected by Lyme disease and faced the challenges in getting properly diagnosed with the illness. The evening’s honorees include Dr. Harriet Kotsoris, founder of GLA’s Scientific Advisory Board, who has played a major role in changing the paradigm of Lyme disease research in the United States, and singer-songwriter Marina Morgan, whose debut single, “Paralyzed,” which she performed live on NBC’s “Today Show,” was inspired by her battle with Lyme disease. He and his wife Ashley are the parents of two young children. His new “Dinner Stories” series, which began last Sunday, encourages members and the community to join him in making dinner together followed by a reading from the bible with a short discussion.
