Missoula girl hit by vehicle while crossing road at bus stop
MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — A 6-year-old girl Missoula was injured when she was struck by a sport utility vehicle as she crossed the road to get to her bus stop west of Missoula.
The Montana Highway Patrol says the driver slowed down and tried to swerve but was unable to avoid hitting the girl. Officials say the girl was crossing the road at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday before the bus had stopped and activated its warning lights.
The patrol says the girl was flown to the hospital for treatment of her injuries, but did not say which hospital. Her condition was not released.
The collision remains under investigation.
