Correia Named MASCAC’s Top Men’s Basketball Coach

SALEM -- Dracut native Matt Correia of Salem State University has been named the Mass. State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Coach of the Year for men’s soccer.

Correia led Salem State to a perfect conference record and the top seed in the tournament. The Vikings finished 7-0 in regular season conference play and 12-5-1 overall and won both the regular and post-season championships to earn an NCAA Tournament bid.

Prior to coaching at Salem State, Correria led Daniel Webster College for six seasons as head coach, while compiling an impressive 70-39-7 record.

He is a 2010 graduate of UMass Dartmouth, where he played four seasons of varsity soccer for the Corsairs while serving as team captain his junior and senior seasons.
