Lions Club members selling candy to support vision research, fund hearing aids
SYCAMORE – Local Lions and volunteers will be visible throughout the community next week for the annual Candy Day campaign.
Sycamore Lions Club members will be giving away rolls of Lions mint candy Sept. 7 and 8, according to a news release. All donations are used to help fund vision research, provide hearing aids and support diabetes research, according to the group’s Facebook page.
The Sycamore Lions Club has been in the community since 1948 to help improve the quality of life for those individuals who are blind, hearing impaired, stricken with diabetes or otherwise handicapped, its Facebook page said. Sycamore Lions are able to fund assistance to those individuals through community projects such as the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival.
