Man pleads innocent to murder in alleged drug debt shooting
WALLA WALLA, Wash. (AP) — A 21-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm in the shooting death of a man over an alleged drug debt.
The Union-Bulletin reports Robert G. Sregzinski pleaded not guilty Monday in connection with the death of 34-year-old Gabriel Rodriguez in Walla Walla, Washington.
In a probable cause statement filed in Walla Walla Superior Court, police say Sregzinski shot and killed Rodriguez April 21, 2016.
Court records say Sregzinski was involved a shootout with Milton-Freewater, Oregon, police a week later after he fled from a traffic stop.
He is currently serving a 10-year sentence in Oregon for attempted aggravated murder, unlawful use of a weapon and menacing in connection with that incident.
