Open houses explain IB program
What exactly is the International Baccalaureate Program?
It’s a curriculum offered at Journeys Middle School and High School, for starters. Two info sessions this week about the Switzerland-based nonprofit educational foundation and its curriculum will answer more questions.
“International Baccalaureate is a program that is well-known worldwide but isn’t a household name in the U.S.,” said Warren Samuels, admissions director at Journeys School. “Despite that, U.S. colleges and universities know and love IB students. We want to make sure that students and parents know that there is an IB school here in Jackson.”
Journeys School of Teton Science Schools is hosting two sessions that cover the programs offered at the Journeys School. The information sessions are free and open to the public.
The sessions are Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 and Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m at the Jackson campus of TSS at 700 Coyote Canyon Road. Samuels said students and families can expect to leave with a deeper understanding of the integrated IB curriculum and how it differs from other options, like Advanced Placement courses.
