Graduation ceremonies set for seniors

More than 350 high school seniors will graduate in Alcorn County within the next month. Although Corinth High School graduation has been moved to mid-June, the three county schools will hold their commencement ceremonies in two weeks. No more than 225 seniors will walk in the Alcorn School District. Superintendent Larry B. Mitchell said he was very proud of their many accomplishments. “The teachers and administration of the Alcorn School District wish each graduate well in the future,” he said. “These are talented individuals and we anticipate great achievements in their upcoming endeavors.” Biggersville High School kicks off the Alcorn County graduation schedule at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 22 inside the BHS gymnasium. Alcorn Central High School’s ceremony will also be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 25 at the Crossroads Arena. Kossuth High School rounds out the week with their ceremony set for 7 p.m. on Friday, May 26 at the Crossroads Arena. Corinth will see no more than 128 seniors walk at their commencement at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 16 at the Crossroads Arena. “Graduation is a rewarding experience for our high school seniors and their parents as we celebrate this accomplishment for these students,” said Corinth School District Superintendent Lee Childress. “We are proud of our graduates there many accomplishments.” Other area graduations include: Tishomingo County, May 18, 7 p.m., football field Booneville, May 18, 7 p.m., gym McNairy Central, May 18, 7 p.m., football field Baldwyn, May 19, 7 p.m., gym Adamsville, May 19, 7 p.m., football field Thrasher, May 22, 7 p.m., gym New Site, May 23, 7 p.m., gym Wheeler, May 25, 5 p.m., gym Jumpertown, May 25, 7 p.m., gym Falkner, May 25, 7 p.m., gym Walnut, May 26, 7 p.m., gym Ripley, May 26, 7 p.m., gym
