PFW to offer master’s in speech-language pathology
Purdue University Fort Wayne will soon offer a master’s degree in speech-language pathology, the university announced today.
The program, the first graduate program offered by the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, was approved today by the Purdue University board of trustees, PFW said in a statement.
“Students who want to practice speech-language pathology are required to have a master’s degree,” said Stacy Betz, associate professor and department chair, in a statement. “Now they will have the opportunity to pursue that degree right here at Purdue Fort Wayne.”
The university said the program requires approval from the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and accreditation from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Indiana Department of Education.
