Greenwich schools closed on Monday due to snow
GREENWICH — Greenwich schools will be closed Monday due to the expected snowfall that is forecast for Sunday night.
An announcement was sent out Sunday night that the public schools would be closed, the first snow day of the year for Greenwich students. Additionally, Greenwich Academy and Brunswick School announced that its classes were cancelled on Monday as well and Greenwich Country Day and Sacred Heart Greenwich followed suit soon after.
As of early Sunday night, the town of Greenwich had not enacted any snow emergency parking restrictions.
According to the National Weather Service, a winter storm warning is in effect until Monday at 7 a.m. Snowfall is forecast to be in the five to nine inch range for Greenwich, but proximity to the coast could have an impact on the snowfall totals. The snow is expected to end early Monday morning with temperatures getting into the high 30’s as the storm clears.
