Body of Oklahoma construction worker found in Cimarron River
MANNFORD, Okla. (AP) — The body of a missing construction worker has been recovered from the Cimarron River.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say the body of 36-year-old Edwardo Garcia of Tulsa was recovered at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday in Creek County.
The patrol says Garcia was operating a front-end loader for Manhattan Road & Bridge when he disappeared about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday. Troopers say Garcia was moving rock for a makeshift roadway into the river near a bridge construction site when he backed off the roadway into the water and did not resurface.
Rescue teams found the front-end loader Tuesday night but Garcia was not inside. The patrol says his body was recovered by dive teams in nearly 10 feet of water near the construction site. He was not wearing a life jacket.
