Longmont to Conduct Drone Flight Along St. Vrain River on Thursday
Longmont on Thursday plans to conduct a drone flight over a 2-acre area surrounding a short stretch of the St. Vrain River, city officials announced Tuesday.
The unmanned aerial system flight, to be at an altitude of less than 400 feet, will cover an area roughly bounded by Price Road and Boston Avenue on the north and South Bowen Street and Colorado Avenue on the south. It will not fly over BNSF Railroad property.
The drone flight is being conducted to obtain pre-site condition images in advance of 2019 water line replacement work to be conducted along St. Vrain Creek. The flight will take place mid- to late morning, weather permitting.
