LET’S DANCE WICHITA
SAN DIEGO — Shall we dance?
Sure, as long as No. 13 seed Marshall (24-10) can lead in its “Big Dance” matchup against No. 4 Wichita State (25-7) at 1:30 p.m. here Friday, March 16, in Viejas Arena during first-round play of the East Regional in the NCAA basketball tournament. So, what is going to happen?
“It’s going to be a track meet — a lot of points on the board,” answered Jon Elmore, Marshall’s star junior point guard. “And that’s what we excel at. So, we can’t wait. I’m confident in our team.
“We have risen to the occasion most of the year, and I think we can do it again. I think we’ve gotten hot at the right time.”
Marshall has won four consecutive games and five of its last six. Wichita State has lost two of its last three games.
This is Marshall’s first appearance in March Madness since 1987 — 31 years ago.
