Bulldogs hold off T-birds 3-2

BULLHEAD CITY — The host Bulldogs held off the Mohave High School T-birds 3-2 during the Kingman Invitational at Kingman High School on Thursday.

Senior Dante Bravo gave up two runs — none earned — while striking out 10 and walking three in 42/3 innings to earn the victory, while senior Luke Ness pitched 1/3 of an inning of hitless relief to earn the save for the Bulldogs.

Zach McCray doubled, had one RBI, one walk and stole a base in one at-bat; Ness doubled, walked and scored once in two at-bats; and Rilee Araya walked and scored once in two at-bats to lead the Kingman offense.

Andrew Avalos singled twice and scored once in three at-bats; Brayden Jones singled, scored one run. stole one base and walked twice in three at-bats; River Borland singled once and knocked in one run in two at-bats; and Xander Reed singled and knocked home one run in three at-bats to lead Mohave’s offense.

Reed gave up three runs — one earned — on two hits, while striking out four and walking three in three innings to take the loss for Mohave.

Sophomore Devin McDaniel relieved Reed and gave up no runs on two hits in one inning for the T-birds.
