Fourth Avenue Arts presents ‘Enchantress’

HUNTINGTON - You’ve probably seen “Beauty and the Beast,” but chances are you have never seen it like this.

Fourth Avenue Arts presents its spring production of “The Enchantress” based on the beloved fairy tale. Experience the classic tale of “Beauty and the Beast” as told from the perspective of the Enchantress as she bewitches the royal castle and guides Belle to her prince.

Performances are 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 19, and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Fourth Avenue Arts, 1030 4th Ave., Huntington. Tickets are available online at https://squareup.com/store/4th-avenue-arts and also at the door if not sold out.

This production has been conceptualized by artistic director Jessica Lynn Fox and features original choreography by Fox and Summer O. Logan, as well as guest artist Angela Dennis from Morgantown. The performances will feature 4th Avenue Arts students and guest artist David Ward, independent dance artist from Columbus, Ohio, according to a news release.

Ward is playing the role of The Beast and Lumiere. Ward is a former leading dancer with BalletMet where he spent the past seven years, He trained at the English National Ballet School and spent five years dancing with Northern Ballet in Leeds, England. Ward’s career highlights include touring across mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Thailand, as well as dancing for Prince Edward. He also danced in the International Ballet Stars Gala and was a guest performer in Las Vegas.
