Assault investigation leads to drug arrest
NORFOLK — An investigation into an assault on Tuesday resulted in Norfolk Police arresting a woman for criminal impersonation and illegal drug possession.
Capt. Mike Bauer said while police were investigating an assault that occurred at a residence in the 100 block of Braasch Avenue, police located a woman hiding in a closet.
The woman identified herself, Bauer said, but a check of her license and DMV photo proved that she had provided a false name.
In further questioning, she was identified as Sabrina R. Reeves, 21, homeless. She was then placed under arrest for criminal impersonation.
Bauer said that in a subsequent search of her purse, police recovered a syringe filled with a liquid. The liquid reportedly tested positive for methamphetamine, he said.
She was questioned about drug usage and then arrested for possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine. She was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
