Darlington County Sheriff swears in two new deputies

DARLINGTON, S.C. – Darlington County Sheriff Tony Chavis Monday swore-in two deputies, William James and Joshua Stanley.

Both Deputies are assigned to the Patrol Division.

James began his law enforcement career in 2012 at the Florence County Detention Center, and in 2014 was promoted to deputy sheriff. James comes from the Lamar Police Department.

Stanley began his law enforcement career in 2009 with the Darlington Police Department and previously served with the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.

Prior to law enforcement, Stanley served as a volunteer with the Darlington Rescue Squad and Darlington County Fire District.

Stanley comes from the Lamar Police Department.
