August 16, 2017 GMT

The Fall Katy Home & Garden Show will feature a Vintage Market when it comes to the Merrell Center and Robinson Pavilion, 6301 S. Stadium Lane, Sept. 9-10.

The west Houston home show has been showcasing the most current and creative trends in the home design industry for more than 11 years.

The Vintage Market will feature home decor and unique finds. Hear how the mastermind behind “Dumpster Diva Designs,” Melissa Cervantes, has gained a following by turning trash into treasure.

Located “just off the square” in McKinney, Texas, Cervantes has gained her following of nearly a quarter of a million decor-lovers by putting new life into old pieces.

“I’m so excited to be coming to Houston,” said Cervantes. “Rehabbing furniture is a passion and I can’t wait to show people how, with a little bit of creativity and imagination, an outdated piece can become the cherished focal point of their home or ways they can turn a junky-yard find into a treasure.” Cervantes will be present both days of the show.

Harold Kelly, director of sales and marketing for Mélange Catering will provide fall entertaining tips and how-to’s on the Home Design Stage.

Meet experts from landscape, lighting, flooring, paint, home automation and more and all ready to take your ideas and shape them into reality.

“The Katy community has been so wonderful over the years and we love being able to give back to an organization that serves this area so well,” said Robyn Cade, President of RJC Productions Inc., the show’s producer.

Tickets are $7 for adults; $5 for seniors; $3 with a military ID. The facility charges a $1 per ticket fee, which is added at the time of purchase. Kids 12 and under are admitted free. Parking is free.
