BOISE CITY, Okla. (AP) — Two Alabama men have pleaded no contest to first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a man in the Oklahoma Panhandle.

Court records show 29-year-old Zachary Wilson of Mobile and 33-year-old Jeremy Scott of Semmes were sentenced to prison Monday in Cimarron County District Court, Scott to 35 years and Wilson to 25 years.

Wilson, Scott and third defendant were arrested in February, Wilson and the other defendant in Alabama and Scott in Colorado, for the June 2013 shooting death of 77-year-old Charles Nieman outside a convenience store in Boise City, about 295 miles (475 kilometers) northwest of Oklahoma City.

The third defendant is awaiting trial.

Prosecutors say Nieman and his wife had stopped for gas when a man pointed a gun at Nieman and demanded his wallet, then fatally shot him and fled.
