A McKeesport woman was charged with homicide Wednesday in the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend from McKeesport inside a South Side apartment, according to Pittsburgh police.

Cassandra Locke, 52, allegedly stabbed Daryl Waite, 49, on Tuesday night inside a third-floor apartment along the 700 block of South 21st Street, police and the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office said.

Waite went to the building’s lobby, where he collapsed, police said. Police reported finding him with a chest wound lying on the floor at 10:50 p.m.

He was transported by ambulance to UPMC Mercy hospital in Pittsburgh, where he died, the medical examiner said. The results of an autopsy were not released.

Locke was arraigned before Pittsburgh District Judge Derwin Rushing on a criminal homicide charge and placed in the Allegheny County Jail.

She was denied bail, pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 15 before Allegheny County Judge Jeffrey Manning.
