Dak Prescott wants to be with Cowboys ‘forever’
Dak Prescott is entering the last year of his contract, but the Dallas Cowboys quarterback appeared confident Wednesday that he and the team will eventually agree upon a new deal.
Prescott is set to make $2.02 million in 2019.
“I mean, I want to be a Cowboy forever,” Prescott told reporters Wednesday. “I think the people that are doing the deal feel the same way, so to me, it’s no rush. I know it will get done.”
The Cowboys are negotiating new deals with both Prescott and wideout Amari Cooper. Prescott’s performance improved last season when the team acquired Cooper at the trade deadline. The quarterback finished 2018 with 3,885 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Russell Wilson became the latest quarterback to sign a significant extension, agreeing to a four-year, $140 million deal last month.
Many have speculated Prescott’s next deal will be around $30 million per year.
